In honor of Star Wars day, here is a new modular coin design you can get on Thingiverse.
You know, it was ‘kinda’ funny for the first few years when it became a thing on the net, but the perpetuation, by adults no less, of a ‘Star Wars Day’ is probably the stupidest thing I’ve heard of, Disney loves you though, and wants to sell you more stuff.
It’s bad enough that most of the adults these days have toys in their pockets but then you add inanities like this… The future of the human race is looking rather padded cell.
It’s a ‘bit of fun’ when it’s done once or twice… but when it gets done repeatedly and becomes a thing, you have to start wondering about folk… It’s not even as if the series can keep it’s own mythos straight and 3 good movies, 4 bad is hardly a good track record.
I don’t mean to rag on you in particular, mate, but you were the first in my sights.
could be used for checkers?
Yes I was wondering the same thing what would these be used for?
@Jeff_Dewe @Scottie_D369 My sister requested this as a [edit] checker set after she saw the post, so that seems like a natural use. Basically, it could be used for anything that requires a coin shaped object with a symbol of some sort on each side.
@Elf_Tablet I enjoy it. Thanks for the comment and your opinion, though!
Next maybe a checker board? if you made a square with 2 out 4 sides protruding from the middle and 2 mitered in sides, That way each square would fit together. So if each coin is 36mm then each square maybe 46mm square, 6mm high so for the lip, so from the bottom nothing for 2mm and then a 2mm(H)x3mm(D) lip, then nothing . the grove would be 2mm(H)x3mm(D) . LoL its hard to explain but its really simple, grrrr. Basically a square two sides with with a lip going around, I would say the right and bottom sides of the square with the 2mm lip in the middle, and the left and top side with the 2mm grove, on paper it works.
@Jeff_Dewe I believe I get what you are saying about interlocking squares. Then you just print a bunch of the same square in two different colors and you have your board. Might have to make this. Wouldn’t be too difficult and would be a nice flexible design allowing for all sorts of custom looks!
That’s its
you got it
Yahooooooooooo
Andrew, that’s all it is, it’s an opinion. You have yours, I have mine. It’s not as if I hate you or anything.
