In my 3d printing quest, I came across this extruder and wanted to know if anyone is using it or one like it. I had a similar idea, but hay what is Thingiverse for!! I would be using it Bowden.

The belt is probably going to wear fairly fast, but I don’t know if it’ll wear fast enough to actually cause any problems.
How will you adjust tension ???

Belt drive is a great idea, like @Jon_Stern says check out the v-struder for some other ideas.
I tried but did not seem to get the appropriate grip out of it. Hard to adjust without swapping different length belt, and in/out direction is a little confusing. I want it to work though…
You need to get at least 90 degrees or 120 degrees of force on the filament from the drive wheels. @Tim_Hatch do you have any pics of yours?
