In our local Fab Lab the other evening I was asked how one might modify a whistle (actually a recorder head from Thingiverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12862 ) so a pipe and potentially fan could be attached. It’s just a fun experiment a member wants to try out. We modified the whistle in 123D Design and I recorded our work in 3 short video clips. It shows the utilisation of “Split Solid”, “Lofting” and other ordinary use of this package.
The clips are not meant as an instructional tutorial, but seeing some everyday hack-about in 123D Design may be of value to others that have not tried it out. I’m sharing the videos in this context. (I don’t know a way of posting 3 separate videos in one G+ post, short of re-editing into one, so going to post 3 separate but related posts with the short video clips).

Final note: The STL was converted to STEP file format using InStep utiity. An object is more editable in STEP vs STL when imported to 123D Design. Our scale was way off after importing. Need to work on that.
