Incoming power wiring

So in the instructions for the wiring it has this picture.

So I automatically assumed that it needed to be wired as shown with the 12v going to the main and then branching off and crossing as shown to the other two spots. Same with the 5V input only not crossing.
When looking for pictures of how people have been wiring this up I have not seen a single one where it is wired this way. Am I just confused and not reading the instructions correctly?

If you read the instructions bellow the diagram, you’ll see that for each input, there are two connector footprints, to give you different options of connectors to solder. You however, only need to solder a connector to one of those two options.

Thanks Arthur, I was working on all this last night and with the help of Wolfmanjm we got my problems sorted out. I was grasping at straws so I thought I had something wired wrong. Turns out it was my mSD card.
