I was talking to Daniel Garcia about these so I thought I’d post what I know for everyone’s benefit.
This is a full kit that Home Depot is selling in-store only.
It’s Illume branded and contains a 2.4m RGB strip, power supply, controller box and ir remote.
I intend to use only the LED strip and the PSU.
The controller chip is the INK1003 (in this case specifically the INK1003S0 I’m not certain of the last digit. It could be ‘oh’, ‘Q’ or ‘zero’.
Anyway, I can confirm that the power supply is (roughly) 12v and probing at the strip cut point pads with a DMM reads 12-13v between VCC and either GND.
If anyone else can add any info to this post, please comment. I’ll collect all the INK1003 info I can and collate it and post it somewhere.
@Daniel_Garcia I have the datasheet but I’m not the guy to prove they’re compatible based on that.
I’m reasonably adept with the Arduino, but this is my first digital LED string.
I do want to test them with the library which means I’ll have to power the string separately from the Arduino. No biggie, that’s why I bought the kit since the PSU comes with it. However I am confused about the Arduino to pad connections given the confusing labelling on the string.

@MAX_Menke Yeah, I noticed that after I got it. Though that’s not inherent to the INK1003, just to this implementation. I’ve seen a good few INK1003 products with per LED addressing.
As for this strip, the per 3 addressing will be fine for my intended use.
I found a forum that suggests these are compatible with ws2811 protocol… I’d love to know if this is true. At $25 CDN per 8’ strip (remote & PS included), these Illume strips seem like a great deal.
@Qole_Pejorian now that it’s gotten cold here and I’ve almost finished all my outdoor projects for the year, I’m going to tackle this project fairly soon. I’ll post my results.
I can confirm that this Illumé strip works perfectly with the Uno and FastLED. Wired it up tonight and tested the FirstLight example sketch. Success! I used the included wire. Green/Red is ground, Black is VCC (12V), and blue is data.
I’ve also managed to solder two of these 8’ strips together, and they act like one big strip, although the included PSU can’t handle all the lights on at full brightness. Also my Home Depot no longer sells these strips.
