InMoov robot arm printed on my Solidoodle2.

InMoov robot arm printed on my Solidoodle2. Really starting to have some fun with this project. I was never a fan of printing Yodas  What do you guys think? Cheers!

I too am building this wonderful project… Dang them AX-12 Servers are huge!

I am wondering why he used 100# line?

I went to the lighter 100# line (the creator of InMoov recommends double that) because of the availability in my area. And price

Ah seams 100# is over kill now. I didn’t know the recommend 200#. Is 200# preferred just because of its size. 3D printers only use 80# line.

I’ll soon find out- but I don’t really think it is too much overkill- there are a number of direction changes and friction points- as well as the geometry of the hand. There will be significant forces. I guess we will see if mine holds up at half strength  Cheers!

@Chris_Bigpaws_Chambe That’s fantastic you are building one too. What a great project. I wouldn’t have dreamed of this a few years ago.

Great i am looking forward to seeing your progress.

@MKme_Lab Yeah, I got started just about 2 years ago, by building my own Mendel Printer, then set about the upgrade path from PLA to ABS.
Currently my INMOOv’s color scheme is All A.B.S. with the following colors. Arctic White Shell, Grey, black and fluorescent orange internal parts.
I began with the head, as a single project, I will begin the torso/shoulder assemblies as soon as the head is completed/tested and proven functional.
As filament supplies dwindle during the job, I have some alternate colors earmarked for some specific assemblies, like Red for small joints and Blue for larger ones… but I am trying hard to stick to the primary color scheme.

@Chris_Bigpaws_Chambe That’s excellent! Your robot is going to be neat to see for sure. Have any vids? I’ve been printing for a bit over a year (mostly flight simulator parts) but InMoov has really motivated me. I just finished up the Arduino Brain-Computer interface I’ll be using for the arm until I get ambitious enough to build the whole robot
