Not sure why he thinks this is new? he says “The only way to get the SK9822 to work properly is to send an additional “reset frame” of 32 zero bits at the end of the bitstream to trigger the PWM register update.” that’s exactly as the data sheet in both APA102 and SK9822 states! You need to send both A start frame AND AN end frame. I don’t think they are intended to BE clones (in my opinion) they are functionally better in many ways, especially the higher SPI data rate!
@Leon_Yuhanov I think what he is saying that the SK9822 requires 0’s whereas the APA102 can be 0’s or 1’s. I am not familiar enough with these LEDs since I rarely use them so I can’t say whether he is right or not.
