Introducing the World’s First 3D Printed Trombone!

This awesome maker, piercet, just designed and uploaded the world’s first 3d printed trombone! And it plays! There are about two weeks left for Lulzbot/Reddit Music Maker contest! The winner gets a Taz printer. http://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1zceg7/lulzbot_march_3d_printing_challenge_make_some/

The title is a bit misleading since it’s not fully 3D printed. It’s only the connecting pieces, the bell and the mouthpiece, which appear to only account for about half of the instrument.

Still, it’s pretty cool that this was even possible and functional

You could fully 3d print it though. It’s just not worth it since PVC is so cheap. You’d spend more printing it than it is to buy the tubing.
