Is a diode required when wiring a hot end

I began wiring a Terminator hotend (Kickstarter project) to the Smoothie. The diagram looks to have a symbol between 12-24v and the P1-22(small mosfet). Therefore, Is a diode required when wiring the hotend?

Any reason you would think you’d need one ?
If not, no, there is no reason to use a diode for a hotend.

Hello good sir!

Thanks for the timely response. I was referencing the image under the “Heating Element” section and was under the impression that was a diode symbol for supplying power to the mosfet that will drive the hot end. I’m thrilled it is not!
