Well the “Steve Jobs” of 3D printing can’t be more accurate, the whole foundation of the Macintosh OS is based off of Linux, an open source community driven product, just like 3D printing is now.
History is written by the Victors…in the 3d landgrab we’re currently undergoing, he’ll be one of those remembered. Edison did some seriously unsavory things, too. #ElectricutingElephants
Wow! I thought it was cool to see Bre and Max building their empires! They are both nice guys who have inspired me to compete and offer something different. I think Printrbot is a very different company that than either. We all want to be the next Steve Jobs in some way. Time will tell.
Steve did more than all 3d printing companies combined to date. This is just the beginning of the story. May the best product for consumers win!
Steve was a visionary leader and drove a startup from garage to #1. He had huge successes and abysmal failures. He also ruined people, was hated by many and sucked as a father for many years. Leaving that kind of a mark and dying young is not what I aspire to.
Here’s hoping the story of consumer 3d printing turns out differently. These next 3 years will be an exciting chapter in the story, no doubt.
Well, if you love 3D printing (or the Maker Movement in general), we’d love to you all at @SXSW1 this weekend! Our 40’ x 85’ teched-out mobile trailer will be at the Hyatt Regency Austin all weekend.
