Is it common to have have to apply the 3M transfer tape to a PEI sheet? Or is there a product already available that has the transfer medium already applied to the PEI… Amazon purchase would be preferable ( have a gift card to burn)
Depend on the seller, some came with adhesive pre-applied, some don’t. I think most of the 3D printer oriented seller will sell pre-applied.
Don’t get the roll transfer tape. They are horrible.
@Step_Cia seconded. I got a silicone heater without the adhesive and trying to apply some 3M (468MP I think it was?) myself went horribly.
@Alex_Krause I bought this for my Kickstarter Plus, separate PEI and adhesive sheet I have several double strength glass sheets that I swap, and it wasn’t a big deal to apply this to one of them. Used a rubber bondo squeegee to get it flat and the bubbles out.

Just got my second sheet from CSHyde. Really happy with theirs. Just make sure to specify if you want matte side up. I think its much more resilient. All come backed with 3M high temp adhesive.

@Kirk_Yarina I bought it from them in a different size and it was anything but easy to apply. I went through 3 transfer sheets trying to get no bubbles or creases.
I rolled it on while pulling the paper off and working out any bubbles. That way there was only a narrow strip to deal with at a time. Read about the technique somewhere, don’t claim any credit for it
Yeah I tried something similar but due to the thickness of the adhesive it was very difficult for me to fix any bubbles without it sticking to itself and causing kinks
I can second CSHyde. It’s not on Amazon unfortunately, but it works great and they offer different thicknesses as well. I prefer the 10mil.
@Ryan_Branch I like the 10mil as well. Thats what we put on our lulzbots. I went with 5mil and 5mil adhesive on my delta. Aside from me being stupid (for the second time) during installation it seems great. Prices seem fair to me as well.
