Is it May yet? Is it May yet? (Excited :-) Can't wait.

Just fine. 3D Maker Noob printed a Velocity Painted model in Rigid Ink PETG the other day (look it up on YouTube), and it came out mighty fine. Sticks well to the PEI bed.

I’m working on switching to the Bowden extruder and self leveling print bed…I guess the breakdown prompted some research and with all the file and idea sharing available it is a very simple and affordable upgrade.

Im gonna be using recycled PET filament thou. Not PETG

The “Prusa i3” you find on ebay is just a very poor chinese copy of an old printer developed by Josef Prusa in Prague (“Prusa” is his last name). So “Prusa i3” from Ebay is like buying a cheap Coca Cola on Ebay - it has the familiar name on the bottle but you have no idea what’s inside.

Makes sense now. The cheap one has worked well enough for me though. (Student on a budget).

yea, but it’s not “pretty much the same thing”. The MK2 has a long list of fundamental improvements. You can read it on the website I posted above. Self-leveling bed, PEI and MK42 were the main reasons why I abandoned my own Prusa Air wooden build and bought the real MK2 for the money. It’s been a while since I was a student so I understand the budget reasoning. It’s just fair to point out that the differences are major and the $699 is a good price for the feature set you’ll get with the real genuine MK2.

Mine arrived today. I actually received a mk2s! Prusa is awesome!

Yeah thats what im getting too @Keith_Applegarth

When I ordered it, the mk2s did not exist! I wasn’t expecting to get it either.
