Is there a stable build of this software?
I pull down the latest build this evening, now when I compile G-Code, the documents along with the whole grid disappears, leaving only the axis numbers floating in space.
What’s going on?
Sounds like webgl crashed. Can you post your saved workspace?
I’ll see if I can reproduce the results with generic artwork.
It’s also bogging the computer down excessively. It’s never run particularly well but this is a Corei7 system with 16GB RAM, I often run 3D CAD and Simplify3D on dual monitors on this machine with a youtube video playing, but it Laserweb alone will grind this machine to a near halt.
What model processor and GPU?
Processor is an Intel Core i7-4510U, GPU is an AMD Radeon R7 M265, unfortunately.
Generic artwork not reproducing the error, cannot transmit customer artwork.
I’m curious if disabling the AMD and using Intel’s integrated GPU would make a difference.
Okay, wanna hear something kind of interesting? Running Laserweb actually drops my CPU clock speed. Without LaserWeb running and the system unloaded, the CPU runs at 2 GHz. If I load the system (say by running an endless loop in the shell) turbo boost kicks in and I get 3.1 GHz. With LaserWeb running, the clock speed drops to 800MHz.
Thermal throttling
Yeah, having deleted several long and sweary posts about how much I wish Dell had actually given me the Nvidia card I actually ordered, I think I’m just going to give up on laser engraving and use a soldering iron.
