Is there any european shop selling Moldlay in 2.2Kg spools`?
2.2Kg spools? That’s oddly specific. Coincidence that 1kg is 2.2lbs?
0.75Kg and 2.2Kg spools are common sizes.
0.5Kg and 1Kg are uncommon sizes, usually used by established companies entering the 3D printing market (e.g. Dremel).
2.2lb spools, or 1kg are common size. Nobody I know even has 2.2kg spools. I think you’re mixing up weights. Common spool sizes are 0.5kg, 0.75kg, 1kg, 5kg, and 10kg.
@colorFabb_Filament does. That’s my usual supplier as they guarantee ±0.05 instead of just ±0.1 and there is never any dust in these tripple sealed boxes.
Anyway, I’m looking for spools significantly larger then 1Kg and the maximum the Ultimaker 2 can handle are the dimensions of these 2.2Kg spools.
@Marcus_Wolschon ah – it seems as if there are some people out there to carry “5lb” spools. Which equates to 2.2kg. /sigh. Silly American companies. Apologies for the argument.
– I can’t find anyone selling 5lb spools of moldlay either.
I do have one such spool here. Sold directly by him to try.
That was before there was any shop at all that sold Moldlay. He’s obviously not in the business of selling single spools.
@Marcus_Wolschon contact http://makergeeks.com perhaps. I don’t know where they are located, probably US since you want EU.
Edit, yep, they are US based. Sorry.
Have you used the functionality of moldlay yet? I’ve printed some stuff, haven’t yet tried lost media casting with it.
I don’t do lost media casting.
I make positive masters out of CNC machined wax and am evaluating Moldlay in an Ultimaker II as an alternative.
I’m currently waiting for my Olson Block. Then I’ll be in the position to finally try it for this purpose.
