Is there anyone that could measure the ball stud size of the ATOM 3D

Is there anyone that could measure the ball stud size of the @ATOM_3D_PRINTER 2.0? You would be of amazing help!

Thanks,
Andreas

@Thomas_Sanladerer , you still got that machine laying around?

Yes, I do! Will measure its balls tomorrow.

Thank you so much!

Ball diameter is 12.73mm, rod length (center-to-center) is 230mm.

I’m thinking of going with 14 or 12mm, what is the best option do you think?

@Andreas_Desmedt I have neither size of balls at hand, unfortunately. The larger size will see somewhat weaker magnetic attraction, but the smaller size is at risk of ending up undersized, essentially wobbling around.
12.73 mm is essentially 1/2 inch H8, so if you can get your hands on imperial sized balls, you could get the perfect size.

I have 14mm in my design now, and it looks pretty good. I rather don’t play around with imperials in a fully metric delta :stuck_out_tongue:

It also looks their glass plate is way bigger than their actual 220mm print size, why would they do that?

The quick release clips extend quite a bit into what would otherwise be usable printing space - so with the oversized bed, you can use the full area without restrictions.

How big is the bed actually then? What printing space can you maximum get?
