It may not be the most glamourous application of 3D printing but saved us from drilling through the tiles…
#TF
Glamorous no, practical very. I have the same issue in my bathroom. No logical place to put a roll holder without drilling through tile.
I made it in two pieces: the “clamp” and the “roll”. So I could avoid overhanging parts while printing. I made a squarish hole into the clamp and a joint on the roll so everything fits together firmly.
@Kai_Laborenz Did you design it yourself or scan existing parts.
I did the design with Autocad Design 123 by myself. It took three versions. One as a complete part but I had difficulties to print it. The second was to small but the third survived.
@Kai_Laborenz Good work. maybe you should name it Goldilocks.
I think it is the real use of 3d printing: repair, help, respond to local needs. Printing thousand of Yoda’s head is nonsense.
Love it.
I once read in a book about product design that EVERYONE is a designer - they invent all the time.
3D printers allow us all to just get on with it!
Well done.
