It would be nice if Repetier would have the options of changing infill, temp and layer height for a model. For instance if the part is wide at the base the temp could be higher with 10% infill at .3. Then if the part is smaller at the top the temp would be lower, infill higher and layer height .1
That’s not Repetier’s job. It’s the slicers job. Repetier-Host’s job is to give you access to buttons and to give you visualization of the gcode. The slicer handles infill, temp, layer height, etc. Repetier-Host uses Slic3r as its back end. But think about what would be required to set this kind of thing up as far as an options-page…it would be insane.
Well the slicer yes correct. I don’t know i spose it could be done on a percentage of over all height, but if it is truly insane then i should be able to operate it without any problem.
@ThantiK That last part was supposed to be joke. It is possible to add a temp change in the Gcode most any point in the code?
Slic3r does at least let you change the layer height if you’re using the Slic3r interface, add an STL, double click on the STL name and go to layers and set your layer heights as desired.
@Wayne_Friedt yeah, gcode is editable by hand. Just search for “Z” + [multiple of your layer height] and insert the command for changing temp. You can even achieve different infill parameters by slicing the part multiple times, then combining the gcode at the point where you want it to change. It would really be perfect for a post-processing utility.
