It’s ALIVE! My first DIY printer, AKA UglyBot. A giant Delta printer based on OpenBuilds V-Slot, GT2 belts and magnetic rods. Running the latest Marlin on RAMPS, and sporting a lovely E3D hotend. Here it is printing it’s second print ever, after a mandatory calibration cube which turned out almost perfect.
There are still bed-leveling issues. First layer is not great, the hotend eats into it, not sure why. We’ll figure it out later.

And here is a video as well - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tQJROzjnTM
Total cost: About $800
Start to finish time: ~3 Months
Very nice i like it. Why do some video’s look like they are filmed in a fish bowl?
That’s YouTube’s video stabilization.
Great job, congratulations !!
Hey @Mark_Carew_OpenBuild , do the derlin wheels need oiling or lubrication ? What kind would you recommend using ?
@Shachar_Weis Hi, you don’t really need it but I like to wipe the rail V tracks with a little spay silicone on a paper towel. Awesome project bro! I have been wanting to finish up my delta build and now you have inspired me to do so
Keep up the good work.
That looks like a sweet printer. Excellent job @Shachar_Weis !
