I had someone with a Rep 2 (no heat) test it and here is a quote of what he said: “I have been using it and had no issues to date besides trying to get parts off. I have only printed maybe 10 in the last month though so it has not gotten a ton of use, but it seems to be ready to go with a light sanding every time I need it.”
Note that he had an earlier version with a thicker acrylic substrate and it wasn’t as flexible as what I am selling now. (In fact, I made it thinner based on his experience.) I personally haven’t had any problems getting PLA to release, as you can see in the video. Even the thin bottom of the iPhone case peeled off clean. It’s entirely possible that a hotter nozzle temp could cause excessive adhesion. My machine will not allow me to print without heat (ugh!) but I start printing before it gets to the temp setting, and the for PLA, the surface doesn’t go much above 40C.
I’m trying to be as transparent as possible about what I’ve tested and what I know and don’t know.I look forward to more feedback as I get more users.
