I’ve been seeing 3D printers used in so many different ways - what are you usually using yours for? Also vote to tell us what you would be using a 3D printer for if you had one!

Decorative pieces / art

Household items / fixing things / creating recreational things

Prototyping engineered parts / making contraptions

Research / medical / educational

…just seeing the printer as a hobby - i’m more interested in the printers themselves and their reproductive behavior than the things they make!

None of the above, really. I’m using mine for tabletop gaming accessories. Usually card boxes and holders, some replacement parts for miniatures, so far.

@Michael_Vaughan thanks, i’ve added that to the household items category!

I make Star Wars props, here is some of my work: http://www.thingiverse.com/AprilStorm/designs

I think you need a 'I have a printer so I can make more printers ’ option.

Those Star Wars plots are amazing, @April_Staines ! I’m going to have to print a few of these out myself when I get some time off!

@Tim_Rastall added to the last option!

Education: manipulatives, design, STEM.

camera gear, custom mounting solutions for all kinds of stuff, prototyping parts that I CNC machine in more expensive materials later.

Science and research. I don’t have one (although I would like to change that), I use one that another department in the university has.

Printing reprap parts, vases, and Lil figurines.

Prototyping engineered parts for my modern electric chariot. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:66902

Also - cake-pop feet, so far. I used one of the library’s 3 Replicator 2’s. But I have a RigidBot on order. I hope it’s as easy to use after the calibration is all dialed in.
