I’ve been using the WeMos mini’s for LED projects and thinking about dipping my toe into custom PCB design to make a shield for fast prototyping. Below is a shield I soldered up for 3 or 4 wire pixels, power input and a jumpers for 12v or 5v pixels. I was thinking about doing the same but maybe add logic level shifting. Has anyone done this before? Would this be useful? Opinions/comments/suggestions?
I think it’s a brilliant idea!
Great idea, I made similar little blobs for all my projects every time
I use neopixel helper pcb (http://exploredoc.com/doc/5703551/neopixel-helfer-anleitung---christians-bastel) and levelshifter would like to have them combined on a shield.
That’s nice and tiny! Great minds think alike?
I’ve been building perma-proto boards with Wemos D1 mini, SN74HCT245 level shifter, data/clk line resistors, capacitor, and IR receiver. I’m working on revision 2 of a simple, more compact, but still THT PCB:

I would buy some of these

@Jason_Coon nice board where can we buy them .
@dave_windsor thanks! I just placed an order for a few copies of the board. It’ll probably be a few weeks before I receive and test them. I’ll share when I’ve verified it works.
