I’ve got a friend who is looking for a non-functional makerbot for a prop. I’m not overly sure how he’s using this or if this is a buy/borrow situation. I’m still trying to get those details hammered out.

If anyone has a makerbot that doesn’t work (shouldn’t be that difficult to find really) let me know and I’ll try to find more details from him.

Thank you!

Nope. Don’t do it! Even showing a MakerBot (unless it’s being destroyed) is basically advertising for them. Talk your friend out of it.

@ThantiK yeah and to be honest, any other friend I’d probably be like “erm no” but this guy is a tiny bit of a wildcard. So it’ll be interesting to see what he tells me he’s using it for.

Hard to wrap my mind around this, does it need to visibly be a MB?

It seems like if they just needed a prop that looks like a 3D printer, they could accomplish that much by dressing up a cardboard box.

@Tom_Nardi I mean he has other printers if he just needed a printer.

Just donated a cupcake to the local library, but I think they may actually be using it…
