I’ve had several people here ask me for these, so here they are.

By popular demand, we are now offering the Bukito’s drive gear separately. Might be a good replacement for the Ultimaker 2 drive wheel gripper thing (not really a gear, so not sure what to call it), but we haven’t tested it…can anyone with an UM2 help test it to see if it works?

Love these things, envious of your tooth profile. Are you using some sort of custom hob tool/tap? We’ve had cool results with some archaic british tap profiles in our drive gear we’re developing.
These were done with a real hob (not a tap being used as a hob) by a company that made gears for the mars rovers.I don’t know all the details, but I do know that the hob didn’t just cut in and call it done. They moved it axially a bit, and to get the teeth so sharp with a hob intended for making gears, I’m guessing they changed the angle as it was cutting too. We shot some video of the first one being made: https://plus.google.com/+Whosawhatsis/posts/A7MJA5722rA
That hob is so cute haha. I made gears with huge module teeth for years so most of our hobs were about the size of most peoples 3D printers. (Just the cutter). It’s fun to see the process in micro. I might order a couple of these.
