do the honeycomb beds make much differance surely the better the air circulation around the job the better the cut

Yes, I like it because it is motorized and modularly fits in-out of my K40.
It does take up some height however.
They honeycomb gives less backburn from the laser reflecting off the bed when you cut. Also when you cut wood it can produce a thick liquid residue that can seep into the edge of the cut wood if you have too much flat area underneath. I started out the an expanded metal mesh bed and it was always gunk-ed with this residue. You can also instead use spacers to elevate the work piece.
