I’ve re-written my FastLED demos on GitHub to be loop and time demo friendly. There’s fewer sequences, but with more variables to change, along with lots of time based demos. For instance, I’ve removed several marching sequence demos and replaced them with sine waves. Similar effect, but with simpler and more flexible code.

This video is just a couple of tweaked sine waves with the occasional twinkle overlaid (for Mark Kriegsman.) See https://github.com/atuline/FastLED-Demos for the code.

“// Enough with the damn twinkles.”

Is that just flex tubing? Like the kind that’s split along the length for hiding wires? I like the diffusion it provides.

That’s what it looks like to me. I use that a fair amount. Comes in black (no) and white all over the place – office supply store etc. ALSO comes in a clearer ‘translucent’ in bulk from manufactures and cable-installation suppliers.

Thanks! Any specific model/brand/supplier you’d recommend?

If I remember correctly (dubious), maybe http://www.electriduct.com/Colored-Wire-Loom.html

Also IIRC, shipping can easily cost as much as the material-- a local supplier is worth looking for.

@Jason_Coon This demo is using pool tubing that I picked up at Canadian Tire. I’ve also got a spool of white split loom tubing similar to what Mark described. I picked mine up at Lordco Automotive.

Canadian Tire FTW!

I’ve significantly updated my demos again. Have added new ones and converted others to use:

  • palettes
  • EVERY_N_MILLISECONDS for delays,
  • power managed display
  • more demo loops with variables to change

I’ve also added simple one to demonstrate FastLED base easing.
