I’ve seen a lot of inappropriate content pop up on this community lately and while I’ve always reported the posts, there is almost always a number of key words or phrases that go with it. Is there any way that we can have new members have a requirement of their first post be without any pictures or links so that we don’t have content like this? I can report them all day long and gladly do so but wish there was something more I could do/am trying to brainstorm for the good of the community.
I MOD a large group(Linux) and @Google did not give us any good tools for moderating the community. Aside from making people request membership
Porn spammers are a problem right across Google Plus. They’re in every community.
The problem seems to be that they’re bots. They open a profile, smash out a tonne of posts, then vanish. I’m not sure what Google can do to stop them, but I wish they would.
I’m on the community a million times a day so I feel like I catch a good amount of it. Would love to moderate but totally up to @ThantiK
I just hate to see posts like that especially when I know some younger guys are on here.
I appreciate it +Peter van der Walt !
Lol I “lurk” alot… report all the spam posts because they clutter my feed
@Griffin_Paquette , fair warning - some of the crap you’ll see on the spam pages will curdle your blood. Given that you’ve been around for a very long time and are an active part of the community I wouldn’t mind making you a moderator.
@ThantiK I can take it no worries there. Just wanna help any way I can
Done and done.
Sweet! Yeah we have a ton of mods and I check it fairly often and there’s almost always stuff in the spam queue. And @ThantiK is right, some of the stuff I’ve seen in there is very very strange.
I also don’t mind pitching in if there’s a shortage of mods in pacific timezone…
@Anthony_White I don’t think it should be an issue now; I think we found a usable workaround.
