@Jason_Coon i have been reading over your code over and over again and im still as clueless as when i started. In trying to isolate the color pulse pattern from the rest of the code and i only need 1 button so that every time the button is pressed a pulse of color shoots down the strip. But i seriously cannot figure it out. Every change i make just breaks the code. Can you help me?

look at the CD77_chase_one_color_symet function in line 144.

Modify the reset part by putting in @Jason_Coon ’s button code from his sketch. This will allow you to do what you want to accomplish.
