Josef Prusa and his team were busy raising the bar for 3D printers again! I think these new features are great, wouldn’t you agree?

This marks the beginning of the epoc of the selfstate-aware machines.
So what will be the heading after that.
Closer integration of modeling and slicing with realtime previews of print simulations. Maybe feedback of most likely failure mode and suggestions of remedies.
Modeling schemes similar to the one in ps4 Dreams?
On the hardware side. More refined state awareness of course. collision avoidance saving on waste tower height. , Was the plate emptied. Rfid in plates so a print can be paused, swapped out for some intermediate job, and resumed later. Adaptive resolution. infinite area /conveyor plates. 3.5,4,5axis printing. Parts welding?
It’s mostly diminishing returns for a lot of added complexity.
What do you think?
Great job, Prusa.
Great job, Thomas.

@Torleif_Ceder Adaptive resolution. is now in beta in cura 3.X
@Frank_Opmeer Wonderful. Is it adaptive per layer or even finer divisions with different resolution of different parts of the same “layer”?
@Torleif_Ceder
Adaptive layers.
With adaptive layers, Ultimaker Cura will compute a variable layer height based on the shape of the model. The algorithm assigns a narrower layer height to sloped surfaces, and a wider layer height to vertical surfaces. The result is high-quality surface finishes with a marginally increased print time. The user is able to specify the maximum variation, variation step size, and threshold. This setting can be found under the experimental category.
