And thanks to everyone for the kind words. My son has had a blast with assembly so far. Some minor incompatibility issues aside (my fault) it’s been smooth sailing.

My son is only 4, so I work at his pace. He finds it fascinating.

Quick update. Ended up using 3mm carbon fiber rod instead of 3mm stainless steel (had on hand from another project) but awaiting delivery of the 2mm rod. Had an issue with the stubs on the CV shafts being too long too. The part # is correct, as is the overall length, but the stub extents too far through the hub.
