just another reason why i won’t recommend the #makibox to newcomers in the 3d printing community

You have to also keep in mind: You got a Kickstarter printer. Basically you bought into what is at-best, a first run or even beta product. You never buy first-run stuff. Not cars, not computers, no new tech at all on the first run. 3D printing isn’t click and forget off of the assembly line yet. @kenneth_rooks how much experience have you had with other printers?
None. That doesn’t mean that I should expect less than 10 hours print time and stock parts that don’t work. Plus the beta boxes are over, these are production models. Also, wouldn’t this play to the point that this printer isn’t for newcomers?
@ThantiK To be fair, @Jonathan_Buford did argue that his design is intended for first time users. I was arguing that if you have trouble with IKEA and computers you should not buy a printer, especially a new printer, I was told I was dead wrong.
I have been in many heated discussions with @Jonathan_Buford , he is too optimistic, and often wrong.
Not to name names, but pretty much any of the other printers in the same price range (and even higher) and functionality had similar issues. @kenneth_rooks If you need a replacement, please just ask. For this kind of product, we can do all the testing at the small volume beta level, but there are almost always issues when you scale up. Your (constructive) feedback is helping to improve the product.
@Camerin_hahn I made the point that it was for makers that did not want to cope with the existing options, not for consumer level. Perhaps you got the wrong impression. I don’t think any 3D printers that are out there are consumer friendly at a reasonable price, but I would also argue that there does not need to be a printer in every home either.
@Jonathan_Buford thanks for the comment. I have already talked to customer support. It should be noted that my opinions on the #makibox are from the perspective of someone who has never owned a 3rd printer before. So if they seem harsh it’s not personal and as you said (constructive) feedback is good for the process.
@Jonathan_Buford Sorry the post i was miss remembering was interjected by @Matthias_Lewen-Riege , Thought it was by you. for some reason i was sure enough i had to look it up.

It does seem that your community manager was unclear on the subject at the time. It seams that indeed the makibox is not intended for person who are easily frustrated
@Camerin_hahn No worries. Oh, we will be posting it up wider, but the repository for the open design is here: https://bitbucket.org/makible/5d-print-a6-3d-printer
