Just build my first printer.

Just build my first printer. Having problems with communications between the computer and the rambo board. Can’t even get out started. Can someone point me in the right direction to solve this. Thanks in advance.

I also installed adurino with Merlin and cura.

linux windows or ios? with arduino or do you have the firmware preloaded?

So you’ve loaded the firmware for marlin. No errors, right? Give me more details about the printer. Maybe post some pictures of the setup board connectors drivers etc.

Using Windows and installed the rambo machine on the adurino/Merlin software

It not a lot to go on maybe go over everything from the top. The marlin configuration that it’s fight for the board not sure which number the rambo board uses. Also if you have a display and sd card you need to have the right library loaded. Also maybe check the baud settings are the same in your software as what you set it in the firmware.

I loaded the firmware from the computer to the board. Then I open up cura and try to get it to load an object to the printer, I get unable to connect

Check com port and baud in cura

Baud rate is set to 112500 on both sides

I selected 301 for the rambo card on adurino/Merlin as well and compile

Are you using the latest cura

Maybe I am missing a setup step

The com port will show when you connect with the arduino ide. That’s the port your pc detects the board on and it will change if you plug into another port. The other thing with arduino if you connect power before the USB it doesn’t always show up. So disconnect the USB and power then connect USB before power.

Do I need a lcd display on the board or can I use my computer?

Cura is the latest, download and install last night

Comm port 3 on both

Using usb for connection

Maybe try pronterface or repetier to connect. It gives much more detail than cura. As far as the connection goes. You can slice it in cura and print with one of the others if you want. But it’s very hard to troubleshoot without seeing the setup

Ok, I will give it a shot, thanks
