Just discovered this super active group❗️ I’m new to 3D printing, as my first machine only arrived this past Christmas, two and half months later than Easy Arts had promised. No matter. So far I am impressed with Ares 3D printer. (Even as I struggle every step of the way.) I’ll start with my first build after the calibration cube. Then I’ll share more about this machine. (Interestingly, I didn’t know that Maker Muse proposed calibration cube and this Yoda as #1 and #2 things every 3D printer should go through till today.)

With Ares on New Year’s Eve, the Force had been.

I woke up this New Year’s Day, checked Ares printer on my iPhone and voila! No more chopped head. No more waffle brain. No more egg noodle skull. (Check failure record in https://plus.google.com/+YuanLiuTheDoc/posts/G8fxDhP8jdY) I even managed to add LED lighting to make sure night time build is captured on time lapse.

After sticking to CuraEngine plugin to built some planar objects, some successful, some miserable failures, I decided to give Yoda another chance with CuraEngine. The new build seemed smoother from the beginning. Because some large-area planar objects failed so miserably, I still cannot say that the slicer made any functional difference.

Glad to have you here! Feel free to ask questions - though it looks like you’re powering through without much help!

Thank you, @ThantiK . I do what is necessary to survive:-) Plenty of questions ahead as I go deeper. Also glad to share what I have learned in the struggles.
