Just finished a new mount to "upgrade " from my Ryobi roto-tool to my old Ryobi laminate trim router. It’s still a piece of crap, but it has way more guts than the Dremmel style tool I had. I also built a steam punk old school rheostat style speed control, which works well with a brushed AC motor. The brushes generate a lot of RF splatter when they spark, but the autotransformer produces sine waves instead of high frequency pulses, so the noise just moves from the controller to the motor.
