Just finished a Thing-O-Matic brain transplant: replaced all the electronics with a sanguinololu 1.3a board. Printing great after some minor tweaking. I’ll have a longer blog post with details if anyone is interested in replacing their electronics. Hardest part was switching from a thermocouple at the hot-end to a thermistor.
Can’t wait to see the blog post. There have been a handful of people who have asked here in the past “[X] is going to give me his old Thing-O-Matic/Cupcake, is it worth it?” - if your blog post is detailed enough I’ll make sure to save it and point people there so they can be a little more assisted in deciding for themselves.
