Just got a BTLE nrf8001 working on my LED Isis wings… is there any sample code out there using BTLE and FastLED?

@Daniel_Garcia I remember you mentioned you had some BTLE sample code when I asked about bluetooth a while back.

Use the search box on this community. I tried “BTLE” and was riddled with previous posts. Hope this helps.

That was the first thing I did. Lots of posts but no code samples I could find. Am I missing something?

I don’t know, sometimes the most valuable content is buried in the comments. I give up most the time on trying to find previous content posts.

What kind of information were you needing? I have experience with nrf24l01’s and a generalized packet structure. I sent an 8 byte packet to a slave device that then listened for the packet, parsed the packet, and then displayed the proper animation with new variables.

What are you trying to transmit LED commands with? The app I developed for Glowdeck transmits LED commands from a smartphone interface to the equivalent of a Teensy 3.1 for controlling an array of 56 WS2812B LEDS over BTLE - if that setup is a useful analog to what you’re putting together, I can share some code on the Arduino side.

I’m using a teensy 3.1 and iPhone on this project so that would be extremely helpful. I just need a demo framework to get me started… I’m pretty good at hacking code but hopeless at writing it in the first place.

Hi @Erin_St_Blaine It’s a bit difficult because I don’t know what data your iPhone is sending via BT.
In my case there are numbers from 0…999.
I put the basic framework for BT-communication into this paste. You have to add your effects

used this BT-Module:

Erin - I know this may change the hardware involved a little but…but does it BT? I just started playing with Adafruit esp8266 huzzah last night and using TouchOSH for control and feedback. Gotta say super impressed so far are the simplicity. PLUS - if you haven’t used TouchOSC yet…it’s kinda sexy in it capabilities, style and simplicity (I use it a lot for a variety of projects). TouchOSC: http://hexler.net/ TouchOSC Arduino Library: https://github.com/TrippyLighting/OSCuino_TouchOSC.

But if you are set on BT control…there are a few other options…Kino App Inventor (honestly it kinda blows because it’s so close to be good…but like the developer stopped 85% through…and documentation is a PITA…but works well if you can stumble your way through it: http://kino.pad2play.com/) also Handy BLE or ofcourse Adafruit’s BlueFruit Le (all iOS btw).
