Just got my printer frame powdercoated. Now i need to assemble it again…
Do you have to do any rethreading? And if you do, does it crack or chip off?
@Jon_Gordon yes,threads needs to be cleaned. No it doesnt chip off,but that depends on part preparation,parts need to be degreased,and rust free.
Some coaters will mask the threaded holes. There are special plugs, usually of silicone, designed specifically for this and other critical dimension holes.
In this case,we didnt mask anything becouse guys are in hurry,so i just asked them to powdercoat.
You are correct,we have silicone caps for bolts…
I have everything in company,laser,powdercoat so for me that is interesting way to do printers…
