Just gotta wash my shoes now lol

make sure the tube the led strip is in is clean as well, I ran into a problem with silicone not holding because there was some sort of oil on the tube.

Thanx man!

@Richard_Bailey what glue did you use?

GE 100% silicone, any pure silicone should work. It seems that the only thing that will stick to silicone is more silicone…

Im using permatex. Stinks so bad lol. But yeah youre right. Silicon will not stick to anything but itself lol.

Yes, I would definitely recommend cleaning the tube the led strip is in with a cloth and some rubbing alcohol to get rid of any oils. I had an issue with a pair of boots I made for a friend last October because of a dirty tube.

My problem is finding a glue that stick to silicon from the leds ,and rubber from my shoes. Permatex holds for a while then starts peeling from the rubber. I searched far and wide for that miracle glue, never found it.

@Franck_Marcotte thanx for giving me the heads up

If i only use them like once a week how long should the glue hold?

Depends on the environment. If it’s dusty you’ll see the edges peeling a bit. But if you clean them and re-apply glue regularly it should last longer! Personally the reason I shelved this project is because of the strip breaking. The glue was mostly an inconvenience. Makes me sad, they were really awesome to wear. Hope yours can last!!

Hoping on it. As much as a pain that it was to conceal all the hardware this is only a prototype lol

You could try shoe gue, spelling not right. Shoe repair product, it might bond to both.

Ill keep that in mind
