Just had a damn thermistor blow.

Just had a damn thermistor blow. Was reading 225 then jumped to 328 and blew. Any one experience this before?

yep, no idea why or how though, was like 2 week old stock unit that came with a hotend, supposedly ‘the good kind not chinese’. just popped, base of glass beed broke made little noise. i bought 10 cheap replacements, they are cheap just get a bunch.

Thanks for the heads up, probably just a defective one on my end too. Seeing as how this is the only time in years of 3dorinting I’ve experienced this.

we are the lucky ones I guess :stuck_out_tongue:

lucky takai san is a dual print head printer so I’m not totally out of commission

Many times. Must have blown 10 or so Thermistors in the last year. One as recently as last week. I print mainly PETG, and without a sock over the hot end, it gets stuck to the block and gets burnt this eventually can kill a thermistor. I’m slowly moving over to the New E3D Block/Thermistor Cartrige/Sock combo on all my machines.
