Just ordered one.
I recently bought the alu extruder… sight
I would like to buy one too. But 20 bucks for the parts and another 20 for shipment?!? Hey @Brook_Drumm put them in a envelope and add 5 bucks to the invoice for shipment.
Yes, the shipping costs are a bit high.
I’ll check on the shipping costs! That sounds high!
It’s what I paid. 20$
We think we can lower that- will refund difference for all buyers
@Brook_Drumm You definitely need a fully stocked supplier in Europe (preferable in Germany
). Als the one I found only have some of the product line - mostly one or two printers.
The tooth count on the gears is interesting…they seem low to provide enough surface area to grip the filament… but WTH do I know? I’m not selling thousands of printrbots a year!
The grip is surprising. When we run filament down it then pull it up, it leaves alternating notches on the left and right. There is a very small V groove on the gears too, which really improved results after testing some that didn’t have the groove.
I printed the extruder body today with PLA. Not sure if it’ll hold up for testing with a ceramic ubis, though. Any thoughts? I can’t print ABS so I’m wondering if I’ll have to wait for the metal ubis too.
If the motor gets pretty hot you might consider a fan on the motor. File is in yo imagine. This allows the new extruder to work with the current Ubis.
Awesome. I’m already running that extruder motor shroud on my metal simple so it sounds like I’m in good shape. Thanks for the tip, I just ordered a kit.
@Brook_Drumm BTW: when is the new Ubis expected to hit the shelf?
New Ubis set to sell on Black Friday and ship immediately
Aww. Man…fulfill the orders on Monday…Saturday if you must.
@Brook_Drumm Any idea when the new extuder parts I ordered will be shipped?
I’m out of town but they know I want them shipped asap… The latest will be Monday.
Yesterday I got an email confirmation that my gear head extruder hardware shipped.
@Tom_Georgoulias
