Just printed a complete set of Reprap Wally parts for “Smooshed” on the reprap forums. @Nicholas_Seward should enjoy seeing these!

I am few parts into it too  good luck in assembling it.

I hope you will be sharing the building process - it’s extremely interesting!

These actually are for someone else. However, I do know he will be documenting his build process over on the reprap forums.

Awesome! Those look beautiful.

I was really impressed how well they printed! I had no problems with bed adhesion either using hairspray + 65C.

What 3D printer did you use to print these? The quality of the print looks really good!

I printed them on my Graber i3 (GitHub - sgraber/Graber: Graber 3D Printer). @enhydra should be happy to see the quality coming off of this printer.

Nice print

FYI even more photos on my Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sbgraber/sets/72157637939518655/

Nice, I may take a crack at this guy…

@Shane_Graber These parts look definitely good.
At the moment I’m struggling with the stability of the direct drive extruder holder. :frowning: Do you print with 3mm filament?

Which direct drive holder / extruded did you go with?

Oh fyi I’ve printed with both 3mm and 1.75mm filament on it.

@Shane_Graber This: GitHub - sgraber/Prusa-i3-Extruder-Direct-Drive: Direct drive platform for the Prusa i3 using Whosa Whatsis' MK7 Minimalist Replacement

If you do 3mm with that one, you really need a much higher torque motor than we usually use on repraps : something like a 90 oz in stepper like was used on old cupcakes. I have run 1.75mm successfully with standard steppers but I have had to increase the current to keep it from skipping steps.

What stability problems are you having?

@Shane_Graber 1. The heatsink is not properly fixed and is moving when the stepper pushes filament into it: missing/deleted image from Google+
But that may be related to the 3mm filament.

With which extruder did you print the wally parts?

@enhydra : I used a SeeMeCNC EZStruder, which uses a variant of that platform. So is the hot end moving around? If so, try wedging something in there to stop it. You may have to slightly adjust the platform SCAD since I designed it specifically for the http://hotends.com jheads. Also, make sure to put two M3 screws in on either side of the hotend mount to really hold the hotend tight.
