Just shy of a full sheet length.
It’s going to have to do…
Good!
Very nice. Envy. …anyway you’re going to protect those long rails against dust and chips right?
I’ve got a shop vac and 5M of hose hoovering up as I go. And it’s double-belted.
Gigante!
Eventually this is where I’d like to be - cutting full sheets! Waiting on @Catalin_Voinescu 's new extrusion to come out before moving to a larger CNC.
Awesome job!
Thanks. It’s been a grind getting all the parts. I considered trying to join another 500mm on to get the full size, but I’m running out of room.
Curtains on the windows and CNC machine =)
Curtains are coming down and the window will have one panel replaced with a vacuum exhaust.
Room will be painted pink later…
I wonder what was the bottom line in you Bill Of Material?
Including freight… Ridiculous
Sweet looking build, where did you find rails that long? I have never seen any of the maker style rails that long.
My intermediate goal is to make a half sheet one and flip the board when needed.
@Eric_Edwards they are OpenBuilds 8020 extrusion.
Colin at Robocutters in the UK sells 2.5m lengths, although the freight company would only ship a max of 2.3m
Did you buy all your bits from robocutters? Seems all of their kits are out of stock…
@Mike_Thornbury Thanks, I need to find a source int he US for these. the longest that I have seen are 1.5 m.
I found a source of OX kit in france, and ordered myself a 1000x750 one. w00t
@Michel_Pollet no, only the extrusion. The shipping costs for the alloy alone were half the cost of a Shapeoko…
@Eric_Edwards just talk to the guys at OpenBuilds. I’m sure they aren’t getting them made in 1.5m lengths.
@Mark_Carew_OpenBuild what’s the deal? Can people buy longer than 1.5M lengths in the US?
