Just started having this issue. Well ive had noise issues since i put this together but it has gotten consistently worse. I currently have igus bearings in the extruder carriage but the sound seems to be originating from the motor side nothing from the iddler pulley side.
Sounds like something is scraping. You may want to take apart the extruder and X carriage and see if the bushings move fine or there’s trapped debris.
I’d probably just take the x axis belt loose and just move the extruder back and forth.
Have you tried putting your finger on different parts to see if noise or vibration gets more or less? Helps sometimes to do it with eyes closed but probably not near the belt or it will start making a different noise which sounds more like “farrrrrkkk ow ow ow”
Wondering if it’s the controller board sending a crapy signal to the motor.
To narrow things down, exchange that motor with another axis motor and see if the noise follows the motor or stays on that axis.
@Keith_Applegarth no noise when i move it manually
@Martin_Dolan yeah ive managed to narrow it down to the left side of the X axis. The one with the motor
You moved the carriage back and forth or the motor?
Also theres a lot of black dust on the left side which makes me feel like its rubbing on something
The belt might be hitting something and causing friction.
Make sure the belt is not rubbing. The tale-tell sign is the black residue from the belt…
Yeah i think its rubbing against the plastic piece on the motor side which is where the sound is coming from. Unfortunately im at work right now and wont be home till 8ish am. Thats 10 hours from now
Do some white paint/marker on the belt. Move the axis an you see the marks.
Bad bearings check rods if scratched
@anwar_abdulkareem_al bearings seem good. No scratches anywhere. Im gonna print out a new piece before taking this appart so if i need to take the X carriage appart again in the future it wont be as much of a headache
The belt was definitely rubbing against something. Here you can see the fibers. I dont have a replacement at this time but i just put it back together and the sound is no longer there

You might be able to adjust the pulley on the stepper to keep it from rubbing.
I tried it wont budge for some reason. Cant move it back or forward or remove it
And yes i loosened it lol
Finally found the real source of the noise. My camera mount! Lol
There are two set screws. .
