Just thought I’d share this (since I seem to post most when I’m breaking things

My trusty i2 Prusa has been printing so long now that I actually wore out the plywood groove mount. I noticed some weird stuff on my prints and then watched it a bit and notice the hot-end “wiggling”, even though the bolts are all tight.

I’m not sure how many hours are on it, but I’ve had it for about three years, and it’s worked at least half that time…

Sounds like you’ve gotten your use out of it haha. Could always convert it to a newer printer like an i3 or mendel 90

I’ve been working on printing replacement for awhile but I wanted something that didn’t cannibalize the original machine (just afraid that if I take it apart, and the new one doesn’t work, the old one might not go back together

I do like the Mendel 90 though, and I’m kind of hung-up building my Tantillus replacement (rods, etc.).

@Jason_Gullickson I know the feeling. I don’t have access to the printer that made mine at the moment so I’m also nervous to take mine apart. It might be beneficial if you build another printer new and sell the old one. I think that’s what I will do

I’m tempted to print another i2 just because I know how to make it work for sure, then print something new so I’ve got a working back-up
