Just using hairspray for ABS and I’m getting great bed adhesion but the layers look like they’re bubbling out the sides on wider layers. I raised the nozzle 0.05mm and lowered my printing temp by 5 degrees and that helped considerably but the problem still exists. I’m getting prints out of PLA with this nozzle height so what could be the problem?
Over extruding? Have you calibrated your extruder?
What abs are you using? Who makes it?
@Keith_Applegarth PLA is printing fine so I didn’t think it was the extruder. I’m printing at 225 on the hotend and a bed temp of 75.
@Justin_Nesselrotte XYZprinting. I had a few cartridges left over from my old printer
Ah okay. I’ve seen the same effect with push plastics, which is why I asked.
The higher layers seem to be printing better. Maybe just the first layer settings are too wide? It could just be the that the part is thinner, the first layer had a brim.
My guess would be the extrusion multiplier setting. I think the default in Slic3r is 200% to aid with first layer adhesion. You could try dropping this for ABS, which does spread a little more than PLS, however it might cause your model to not stick to the bed as well.
Your going to shave off that burr anyway. I have that every now and then.
That first layer is still too close.
Just checked and extruder calibration is perfect. Ill check the nozzle height again
Fixed the nizzle height any it fixed it almost completely but its still happening a very little bit. Having a problem with Cura that I’ll post.
