Just wanted to post a quick review of the BuildTak FlexPlate I picked up at Maker Faire since I was one of the first to receive it. I’ve gone through roughly 20 print hours since applying it and it is really helpful. It definitely shortens the time gap in between prints since I don’t have to wait for my plate to fully cool before using a spatula to scrape prints off. Just pop the plate off, flex, and everything nicely comes off the surface. You can purchase it on their website but the lead time is a couple weeks. I really like this system and I would highly recommend it. It’s pretty simple to apply, and just uses 3 parts. The first is the thick magnetic base that gets applied directly to the bed. Then you simply apply the sheet of BuildTak to the red flexible plate and slap that onto the magnetic base. The only thing left you have to do is recalibrate the Z probe. My inductive probe detected the FlexPlate much better than my aluminum build plate actually. I also printed some clips to allow me to position the FlexPlate easier.
I need to look into this. I nearly destroyed some things removing my first print from BuildTak.
Yeah I find that the for like my first week of printing everything sticks too well. I was using my old sheet for about a year before I upgraded my bed so one sheet lasts me a while.
Thx I was looking for that
