Just wanted to share a little project from a couple of months ago, Arduino Nano clone driving WS2801 LEDs with FastLED. I like these Nano clones from Aliexpress because they come with a more convenient USB micro port instead of the default USB mini port. Works for both programming and power if you don’t have too many LEDs

Cool hex design. Looks sharp Jordan.

Cool I like it !!! Ready for the party

Added to my wishlist.

Nice!

How many LEDs per hexagon?

Could you give us any more info on how you made the frame/diffuser?

@Christian_Eaton Sure thing. Just one LED per hexagon, I use a string of the pixel-type ws2801 (like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/50PCS-lots-DC5V-12V-WS2811-WS2801-RGB-IC-led-pixel-module-12mm-Digital-Full-Color-Independently/32676844336.html)

I made the hexagons small enough that I can use the string as is without having to splice in extensions.

The diffusers are just printer paper, lol. I made a template in Illustrator with foldable tabs. I used a little wood glue to keep the tabs adhered to the hexagons.

@Christian_Eaton The frame is just furring strips cut and nailed together, I don’t have any fancy CNC stuff lol
