Just wanted to share some photos of my latest creation.

Just wanted to share some photos of my latest creation. Its a Hello Kitty Themed Mendel Max I have been working on, that I just got working tonight. Has some neat stuff too like the MKII Prusanozzle, and the new ALU heat bed.

Oh man that pink looks so awesome.

That looks off the charts @April_Staines ! Excellent work!

What have you got for nozzle cooling there? Is that a 20mm fan? (They exist?!?)

My girls would love this. I think it would really get them to like this Technology.

@Christopher_Benjamin I noticed that too. Does the machine emit a lot of noise @April_Staines ? We need more woman in 3D printing and love seeing this pink bot. I also printed a 3DR with pink material that came out great!

wonderful; may I know how are named that black rods, and where may I buy them from (possibly not US) ?

That looks like Misumi’s black extruded aluminum.

Yes they are black misumi extrusions I bought from ebay

@Christopher_Benjamin yes, All the steppers have cooling, actually I will also add heat sinks. It gets rather hot in Australia and I run my machines 24/7 I make props as a side business so they only stop working when something goes wrong.

@Jarred_Baines the 20mm fan came with the MKII Prusanozzle. Its required to cool the top half of the nozzle as its all metal. No PTFE liner means I wont need to overhaul the hot end as much (I hope) My current MendelMax JHead needs to have its PTFE liner replaced after every 3 kilometers of 3mm filament has run through it, as it starts to cause too much friction after that.

@Ben_Van_Den_Broeck The loudest thing is probably the cheap $30 powersupply, which was a mistake, I should have bought a meanwell. It makes more noise than all the fans combined. And there are plenty of women into 3D printing, but I find most for a specific purpose, like me (I make and design props) not for 3D printing in its own right.

Looks great @April_Staines , awesome machine.

@April_Staines Cool, for film/television? We used them at Cartoon Network to make props & pitch pieces but found a good amount of resistance to use them by our prop teams. Have you dealt with traditionalist push back of the tech as well?

Ah cool, well I probably get more resistance from the old skool prop makers because I have open sourced all my props. http://www.thingiverse.com/AprilStorm/designs.

I suspect its a little hard for them to throw their wooden shoes into my machines however.
