Just wanted to show off a big project that we have been working on

Just wanted to show off a big project that we have been working on and most importantly give a huge thank you to @Brook_Drumm .

We have been working for the last six weeks (from January 3rd to February 17th) on a massive First Robotics Competition Robot build. As the build started we realized that we needed to 3d print and test parts that we couldn’t machine out due to our array of tools.

We decided to print many parts including the following white parts (now red as I have a spool of it now and much prefer it) below. These included linear bushings, motor mounts, test brackets, battery brackets, etc.

Note that many aspects of the design have come from 3d printer mechanisms as they are proven and work well).

This just goes to show how useful this technology is right now. All the parts have been designed on Solidworks and implemented on the robot.

We will be bringing the robot and printer to competition where we will now have spare sets of printed parts in case one breaks.

Thanks again to @Brook_Drumm for the support which allowed for a massive amount of testing to go on after hours as well as allowing for pieces to be printed that wouldn’t fit on the 3d systems cube.

More info to come soon including the finished robot pictures.

Way to go team!! Keep up the good work!
Brook

What team are you on??
