Large Luxo Jr
I wanted to make a full size Luxo lamp and thought it would be as simple as scaling up of one of the existing lamps on Thingiverse but I was very very wrong  In the end I had to recreate all the parts from scratch to increase the resolution and tighten up the tolerances, plus I also had to alter the design slightly so the lamp was able to support its own weight.

Anyway its all done now so I thought I would share:

Its quite a job to print as it maxes out the print area on a 200 x 200 bed but its worth it if you want a cool desk lamp

Very nice. Thanks for sharing this.

Yeah its actually an ultraviolet LED for playing with UV reactive filament. The lamp has a USB connector on the end which is where it gets its power. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/109352235257103413028/albums/5960936996630776545/6044001304850490802?pid=6044001304850490802&oid=109352235257103413028

@Daniel_Bull I print a lot of UV reactive filament. Started out using UV LEDs and florescent blacklight tube on my printer, but both seem to weaken intensity after only a couple months. Almost no UV light at all.
But I started using high intensity 5mm blue LEDs for another project and found that even though the blue light is more intense, it does make UV filament glow in close proximity.

Thanks, thats worth knowing Ed as I’ve not been impressed with the UV LED at all.

This is amazing, thanks for sharing!

The Pixar lamp!

are they LED ?

Is this a FMD reprap printer? The resolution looks great…

Looks great

@3D-Proto its a Mendel 90 (Rep Rap) built from a kit supplied by @nop_head

@ariesrgood2 it currently has an LED fitted yes, please see the comments above.

Would it be asking to much to download STL files so I can print this. I was looking to print this and add a waterproof led to use in WEDM machines.

Sorry read the rest of you post. Thank you for sharing

Ohh that sounds interesting @Don_Melanson . Be sure to check the instructions as well as you may need to adjust the files.
