I have this K40 for over a year now. Sometimes the Laser head doesn’t lock the rail at home position. It goes to right about 4cm and unlocks. I solved this issue by hiting home again on meerk40 and it goes back to home and locks the head.
Today I can’t solve this issue, hiting home just keeps moving the head by 4cm towards right until the end. Can’t lock it manualy.
It looks like for some reason you’ve already jammed the X axis against the X endstop(left side) and that thing kinda hits the Y axis endstop pretty hard too. I would slow down the X and Y homing speed if you’re using a GCode based controller. Is that with the stock controller(M2Nano) or some other controller?
Looks to me like neither end-stop is not working although I notice that the led blinks when the carriage slams into and moves away [assuming that is the endstops]. Perhaps the cabling going back to the controller.
I agree with the stops. Do you have eyes or switches? Mine did the same thing on both axis’s. I ended up replacing the eyes with switches, and also rewired from the old ribbon cable to 22awg wire. It was troublesome and annoying, but the repair had to be done.
The eyes may be dirty also. The concept of the stops is that they make the rails stop at top end when the eye is blocked, then advance to home postion and stop once the eye isnt blocked.
